The CF Scan Card 5M will turn your Pocket PC into an advanced mobile
bar code scanner. Socket's bar code scanning brings a new level of
convenience and portability to mobile data collection by combining
Socket's Mobility Friendly™ CompactFlash technology with a revolutionary
laser scanner from Symbol Technologies. Just plug the card into your
Windows Powered Pocket PC or XP Tablet, launch Socket's SocketScan™
keyboard emulation software, and read bar code data into any Windows
program. Fuzzy logic technology enables the reading of damaged or poorly
printed bar codes.
Bar code scanning is the most efficient way to enter data into a
computer. If the data to be entered is bar coded, using a laser scanner
is 50 times faster and 10,000 times more accurate than manual data
entry. And it only takes one hand!
- Integrated Type II CF card and scanner plugs into the Type II
CompactFlash slot of Windows Powered Pocket PCs. Combine with
CF-to-PC card adapter (Part #4001-515, sold separately) to use in
pen tablets or laptops
- Uses an advanced SE-824 Class 1 laser scanner engine from Symbol
Technologies. This is the smallest laser scan engine available
today.
- Automatically decodes the most popular bar code symbologies
including UPC/EAN, Code 39, Code 128, MSI, RSS-14 and Codabar. Other
symbologies can be enabled by user with SocketScan Symbology
selector.
- Fuzzy logic enhances the ability to read damaged or poorly
printed barcodes
- One-hand operation improves efficiency
- Socket's SocketScan software for Windows converts scanned bar
code characters into virtual keystrokes so that any Windows
application treats the characters as though they were typed on a
keyboard.
- SocketScan enables the creation of prefixes and suffixes, such
as Tab or Carriage Return, to further eliminate key strokes in the
data collection process.
- This Battery Friendly solution draws only a few milliamps of
current in standby mode, extending the battery life of your Pocket
PC
- No extra batteries or special power adapter required. The CF
Scan Card gets power from the host Pocket PC.
