NetVision Data Phone: Maximize Communication and Productivity with a Single
Wireless Voice-over-IP and Data Device
It's
the wireless device that does almost everything. The Net Vision Data
Phone from Symbol Technologies combines voice communication, text messaging,
voice intercom, data capture, bar code scanning, an embedded thin client, and an
IEEE 802.11b-compliant radio to offer ultimate mobile computing communications
in a single, lightweight device.
Integrated with Symbol 's award-winning Spectrum24 ® wireless local
area network (WLAN), the NetVision Data Phone provides scalable, dynamic
in-building connectivity. It is based on the most forward looking wireless
IP-based packet-switched technology, known as voice-over-IP, and provides
high-quality service supported by the ITU H.323 standard. No longer do your
workers need to carry a pager, plus a cell phone and a data device in order to
stay in touch and deliver prompt customer service.
Leveraging your installed wireless LAN, the Symbol NetVision Data Phone frees mobile
users to make phone calls, enter and submit data, access server-based
applications, and scan a bar code from a single, ergonomically designed
hand-held mobile device. The Symbol NetVision Dataphone can even be integrated into your existing phone
system to provide lower-cost internal and external voice communication. From the
retail floor to busy airline service centers, from hospital emergency rooms to
manufacturing facilities, the NetVision Data Phone makes mobile workers more
productive, enables complete data-sharing, and streamlines enterprise
operations.
Building on the Best: Spectrum24 Wireless LANs
The Symbol NetVision Data Phone and its sister product, the NetVision Phone, add
voice communication to Spectrum24 High Rate 802.11b direct sequence wireless LAN
installations, allowing simultaneous voice and data support on the same wireless
backbone. By using the same network for voice and data applications, your
organization takes advantage of all the superior features of the Spectrum24
network: robust performance, extreme scalability, and easy network management
and maintenance.
Industry Standard ITU H.323 Support; Quality of Service
Using voice-over-IP technology based on the ITU H.323 standard for real-time
multimedia communications, the NetVision Data Phone converts analog voice into
compressed digital packets that are sent via TCP/IP protocol over standard
networks. Advanced algorithms prioritize voice transmissions to help ensure
high-quality, real-time communications for wireless phone users in mixed media
environments.

browser. The Web Client enables your developers to write wireless mobile
applications quickly and easily using the latest Web-based programming tools and
servers. Since the applications are executed and stored on your server, it
becomes much more efficient and cost-effective to deploy new applications or
modify existing ones. Integrated bar code scanning capabilities make the Web
Client ideal for data collection applications in retail, warehousing,
transportation, hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare.
