The NCR RealPOS 7158 Thermal Printer prints up to 42 lines per second,
producing a record of most transactions in only a fraction of a second. Faster
speed makes it possible to add information to the customer receipt, such as your
company logo, or to print multiple receipts for credit authorization or
couponing, without adding time to the transaction. Multiple bit map logos and
graphics can be downloaded once, rather than each time a receipt is printed, to
user-defined storage memory at the printer and print on demand. Bar code
generation is also performed locally at the printer.
The NCR RealPOS 7158 impact printer station prints up to 260 characters per
second, for quick validation or completion of forms up to five plies thick. In
addition, the single-pass, check-handling option on the NCR RealPOS 7158 allows
you to print on both sides of your customer's check without cashier intervention
- an enhancement in customer service that can speed transaction throughput at
the same time.
NCR 7158 Intelligent Design
Firmware version and diagnostic tallies, such as hours in operation, MICR
reads, lines and characters printed, are stored in printer memory and can be
printed locally on demand or polled remotely by your store managers. You can use
information on usage rates to balance loads in multilane environments and extend
the life of your entire installed base of printers. In addition, information on
model and serial number can be polled for remote asset management.
Self-sharpening ceramic blades of the rotary knife, which are standard on all
models, provide superior reliability. And, the optional auto-adjusting check
MICR reader never needs preventative maintenance or realignment.

design for instant access - no buttons to press or complicated mechanisms to
disengage. Thermal paper replenishment requires no threading - just lift the
lid, drop in a new roll and shut. Ink ribbon cartridges for the impact printer
