Burland Associates Incorporated was just another one of the industries bar coding companies out there which is Scansmart's parent company, and was founded in 1980 as a manufacturers' representative for computer peripheral products. Since its founding, Burland has evolved into a significant value-added reseller of bar code data collection equipment and RFID Technology. We have a strong reputation in the barcode industry, with our client base as evidence. Today, Burland Associates, d.b.a. Scansmart, is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona and markets its bar coding data collection products on-line to Point-of-Sale, Retail, Industrial and Commercial service customers throughout the United States and International markets.

Scansmart was brought on-line September 1, 1999. A website for a growing niche of professionals and companies who are involved with implementing bar code technology within their own companies, Scansmart provides access to a wide variety of barcode products very inexpensively and quickly without having to contact an industry professional to do it.
